In an unfortunate incident on Sunday, May 5th, Dancehall artiste and media personality Sanjay found himself in the midst of a five-car pileup in Sunrise, Florida. Sanjay, accompanied by his associate Conroy of Washroom Entertainment, was en route to an event when chaos unfolded at an intersection. According to the artiste, screeching tyres and a loud collision were heard as another vehicle ran a stoplight, triggering a chain reaction that culminated in a multi-car collision.
Recalling the traumatic event, Sanjay, who was the driver of his vehicle, expressed gratitude for escaping major injuries. He recounted how the first car impacted absorbed much of the force, sparing him and Conroy from severe harm. However, the individual sustaining the initial impact had to be taken to the hospital due to injuries sustained. Sanjay, assessing the situation, conveyed relief that the injuries appeared non-life-threatening.
In a candid Instagram post, the ‘Man of My Worth’ hitmaker shared insights into the accident, emphasizing the unpredictability of life’s timing. He wrote,
“Give thanks for life. 🙏🙏Health is wealth. Buju said it best in this song. Had a close one earlier after being involved in a 5 car crash after a lady tried to speed through a stoplight and lost control of her car and crossed the medium and slammed into a Tahoe which slammed into my car and then spun around and hit another car. The driver of the first car was taken to hospital with cuts and bruises but no seemingly serious injuries. Crazy the timing of life.. the light just turned green and we were about to drive off. One second more and we woulda been on our way to this event. As @wedreamloud said on our way home (3 hours later)… we get dressed to go to a car accident. 🤣 Haffi tek bad tings mek joke more time. Life a di greatest. ❤️”
Despite the ordeal, he maintained a positive outlook, reflecting on the fragility of life and the humorous twists of fate. The post garnered responses from well-wishers, echoing sentiments of gratitude for Sanjay’s safety amidst the chaos.
Meanwhile, amidst the aftermath of the accident, Sanjay remains steadfast in promoting his debut album, “Man Of My Word.” Released last September, the album delves into the complexities of love, offering a nuanced exploration of romantic relationships. Featuring collaborations with notable artists such as Alaine, Tara Harrison, and Meera, the album showcases Sanjay’s emotional depth and vulnerability, diverging from the stereotypical portrayal of Jamaican Dancehall. Through “Man Of My Word,” Sanjay delivers a compelling narrative that resonates with audiences on a personal level, reaffirming his status as a multifaceted artist with a distinct voice in the music industry.
