Amazura, the iconic New York hotspot, thrummed with energy Sunday night as dancehall fans flocked to witness a spectacle of stars. Part of Aidonia’s birthday weekend extravaganza spanning the Tri-state area, the April 28 event boasted performances by the 4th Genna head honcho himself, alongside compatriots Govana and Jada Kingdom, delivering a mesmerizing show to a packed house.
Govana, amidst the fervour of his New York appearance, has another reason for celebration. His racy new single, ‘Pull Over,’ featuring Jada Kingdom, has soared past the million-view mark on YouTube. The accompanying official video has dominated trends for three consecutive weeks, currently securing the No.17 spot on Jamaica’s Trending Music Chart. Produced by Raheef Muzik Group & Chimney Records, ‘Pull Over‘ serves as the lead single from Govana’s eagerly anticipated album, ‘Legacy,’ slated for a tentative summer release.
Although details surrounding the album remain shrouded in secrecy, insights provided to Prism Marketing Consultants hint at a digital and streaming debut in June. Squidell, the deejay’s manager and also an A&R Executive at Atlantic U.K., confirmed the summer release, shedding light on the album’s lead single and teasing fans with glimpses of what’s to come.
“Yes! Pull Over is the first single from the Legacy album. I can’t say much right now, but we are looking at a summer release for the project,” he disclosed
The announcement has sparked a flurry of excitement among fans, igniting speculation about potential collaborations, the album’s thematic direction, and its concrete release date. ‘Legacy‘ marks Govana’s next chapter following the release of his acclaimed five-track EP, ‘God N Gun,‘ in 2022, and the seminal fourteen-track opus, ‘HAMANTS (Human And Monsters Are Not The Same),’ in 2020. As anticipation mounts, fans eagerly await the unveiling of Govana’s musical ‘Legacy’.
