On Friday, May 10, the artist unveiled the second single, ‘Dat Mi Seh, ‘ featuring Skeng, from the forthcoming project. The song was accompanied by a pristine visual via Govana’s official YouTube channel, further fueling the excitement.
Directed by Now or Never, the visually striking video transports viewers into an underground casino, where Govana and Skeng embark on a quest to find a mysterious temptress rumoured to possess the “cute and little”. Set against the backdrop of high-stakes poker games and intense drama, the narrative unfolds as Skeng is challenged by an ominous character, played by social media personality Bawda Cat, risking his life and the love interest at stake. Throughout the drama, Govana continued surveilling the space, interacting with various females.
The release of ‘Dat Mi Seh‘ follows the success of the album’s lead single, ‘Pull Over,’ featuring Jada Kingdom, which has garnered over 1.2 million views on YouTube since its debut over a month ago. Produced by Raheef Muzik Group and Chimney Records, ‘Pull Over‘ has been praised for its infectious energy and provocative lyrics, solidifying Govana’s position as a dynamic force in the dancehall scene.
Although full details surrounding the album remain shrouded in mystery, insights provided to Prism Marketing Consultants affirm a digital and streaming debut in June. Squidell, the deejay’s manager and an A&R Executive at Atlantic U.K. confirmed the summer release.
