Julian “JuJu” Marley, the two-time Grammy-nominated recording artiste, has released his much-anticipated album, Colors of Royal, in collaboration with producer Alexx Antaeus.
The 8-track collection includes four new songs and features production work from Antaeus, Notnice, Mr. Sonic, Sean Alaric, and Prince Productions. It also includes previously released singles, “The Tide Is High” and “Roll,” along with new remixes of both. The album is available via Monom Records / Digital Minds on all streaming platforms.
The official video for the single “Inna Mood” premiered on World A Reggae, and it was directed by Damaniac Visualz. Shot at Wickie Wackie Beach in Bull Bay, Jamaica, the video features Julian performing the song in an intimate gathering as beautiful Caribbean queens move their waists to the track’s intoxicating rhythm. The single’s lyrics narrate the sexy scene, “She in the mood, Mek we move, She a move, Me a move, Under me herbs and me vital juice yah.”
Colors of Royal significantly departs from Julian Marley’s previous roots reggae offerings, showcasing his versatility as an artist. It is a testament to the power of collaboration, as Marley and Antaeus have blended their unique styles and influences to create something extraordinary. The album’s diverse sounds invite listeners to think about the state of the world while appreciating and enjoying life.
Julian expressed that the album is “all about artistic freedom and exploration. We wanted to create something that was both true to reggae music and also pushed the envelope, and I think we’ve achieved that with Colors of Royal. It’s a journey through sound and color, and we can’t wait for people to experience it.”
Colors of Royal is an exciting musical adventure and a must-listen for reggae music enthusiasts.
