Renowned Jamaican producer Ainsley Morris, widely known as Notnice, secured the prestigious title of Grammy-credited producer when the album “Colors of Royal” by Julian Marley and Antaeus clinched the Best Reggae Album award at the 66th Grammy Awards ceremony. Outdoing contenders such as “Simma” by Beenie Man, “Born For Greatness” by Buju Banton, “No Destroyer” by Burning Spear, and “Cali Roots Riddim 2023” by Cali Buddz, the eight-track album emerged victorious on the global stage.

This significant Grammy win marks a milestone for Julian Marley, Antaeus, and Notnice, the latter contributing notably to the project by producing the track “Robbed,” penned by his label associate, Nordia Mothersille. Expressing gratitude via an Instagram post on the night of the awards, Notnice extended appreciation to his team members and acknowledged the fellow nominees. The post sparked an outpouring of congratulatory messages from supporters, underscoring the impact of this achievement within the music community.

In anticipation of this recognition, Notnice had previously shared his aspirations for “Colors of Royal” to clinch the Best Reggae Album award, highlighting the significance of a Grammy win as a pinnacle achievement in the music industry. Although this marks his inaugural contribution to a Grammy-winning album, it’s noteworthy that Notnice has previously been associated with Grammy-nominated projects. Notably, his production on Spice’s album “10,” featuring the track “So Mi Like It,” contributed to its nomination for Best Reggae Album at the 64th Grammy Awards in 2022.
