Fans were thoroughly surprised on Saturday night when dancehall star Skillibeng made a spontaneous cameo during rap superstar Nicki Minaj’s set at the Young Money Reunion in Toronto, Canada.
Skillibeng’s appearance also marks the first time he’s performing his monster hit Crocodile Teeth remix with Nicki. The single peaked at No.1 on the U.S Billboard Charts.
The packed stadium was also treated to a performance of his latest international hit, Whap Whap, as the large gathering could be heard singing in unison with the Jamaican entertainer.
Nicki Minaj has always expressed her admiration for the Jamaican deejay, aside from her rhetoric on social media; further evidence was provided during Skilli’s cameo as the rapper could be seen singing and dancing along amid his set.
Skillibeng has equally heaped praises on Nicki for highlighting his musical talent and always supporting Jamaican culture. The St. Thomas native, in a previous interview, intimated that Nicki’s support for his career, specifically when she unexpectedly jumped on the remix of Crocodile Teeth, was a “power move” that significantly propelled his international popularity.
On Saturday, the American-based rapper also took to Instagram stories to pay homage to Jamaica on its 60th anniversary since independence from the colonial powers. She wrote, “Kingston Rema Waterhouse Jungle Barbie me av nuff gal in a bungle…Love you JAMAICA!!!! Gwan Bad Spanish Town yea,”
