Veteran Jamaican dancehall artiste Powerman is grieving the death of his 25-year-old son, Christopher Davey, who was fatally stabbed in East Flatbush, Brooklyn, while reportedly on his way to a nearby laundromat. According to Davey’s family, his mother had sent him to do laundry when he encountered two men less than a block away. Police say Davey was found shortly before 5:30 p.m. Friday with multiple stab wounds to his torso and was later pronounced dead at Kings County Hospital.
The circumstances surrounding the fatal stabbing remain unclear. Investigators say two men fled the scene in a car travelling northbound on Albany Avenue following the attack. One suspect was reportedly wearing a white tank top and blue jeans, while a description of the second man was not immediately available. Two small bags of laundry were also reportedly left at the crime scene, underscoring the tragic circumstances of Davey’s final moments.
Meanwhile, Powerman, a veteran figure in Jamaican dancehall, has publicly mourned his son’s death. In a Facebook tribute, the artiste described the news as the worst he had ever received. The loss has added a deeply personal dimension to a case that has left Davey’s family seeking answers.
No arrests have been made, and police have not established a motive for the killing. Investigators are appealing to anyone with information about the attack or the two suspects to come forward as the search for answers continues.
