Sean Paul has secured another major global milestone after Rockabye officially surpassed 3.1 billion YouTube views, making it the 28th fastest song ever to reach the landmark. The worldwide hit by Clean Bandit featuring Sean Paul and Anne-Marie also makes the dancehall star only the second Jamaican artiste attached to a video with more than 3 billion views, further cementing his status as one of the Caribbean’s most commercially successful global acts.
Originally released in October 2016, Rockabye quickly became one of the biggest crossover records of the streaming era. The music video has now amassed more than 3.19 billion views on YouTube and remains one of the platform’s most enduring global hits nearly a decade later. According to the latest data, the video peaked at over 7.9 million views in a single day during its explosive 2017 run and spent 98 weeks on the charts after peaking at No. 3 for five weeks.
The achievement places Sean Paul in rare company among Jamaican artistes on YouTube. The only other Jamaican-linked song to surpass the 3 billion mark is Dame Tu Cosita by El Chombo featuring dancehall veteran Cutty Ranks, which currently stands at more than 5.5 billion views globally. Meanwhile, Rockabye continues to rank among YouTube’s most successful releases, landing at No. 28 on the list of fastest videos ever to hit 3 billion views.
The milestone also adds to Sean Paul’s remarkable catalogue of billion-view hits. Sia’s Cheap Thrills featuring the dancehall superstar is currently approaching the 2 billion mark with more than 1.97 billion views, while his smash collaboration No Lie featuring Dua Lipa has crossed 1.47 billion views. The consistent streaming success highlights Sean Paul’s global appeal and his ability to remain relevant across multiple generations of music fans.
Over the years, Sean Paul has become one of Jamaica’s most commercially successful international acts, helping push dancehall further into mainstream pop culture through collaborations spanning pop, EDM, Afrobeats and Latin music. With Rockabye continuing to pull millions of views annually, the track’s latest milestone is yet another reminder of the genre’s worldwide influence and Sean Paul’s lasting impact on global music.
