Rihanna has reached another stratospheric level of success. As of October 16, 2025, the Barbadian superstar has officially surpassed 100 million monthly listeners on Spotify, becoming just the 11th artist in history to achieve the milestone. The achievement also cements her as the most-streamed Black female artist ever on the platform, with an astonishing 100.7 million monthly listeners. The record-breaking moment coincides with another career-defining feat — her 2007 classic “Umbrella” has now surpassed 2 billion streams on Spotify, nearly two decades after its release.

Originally released on March 29, 2007, “Umbrella” marked a defining turning point for Rihanna and for 21st-century pop. Featuring rap mogul Jay-Z, the track’s thunderous production and unforgettable “ella, ella, eh, eh” hook made her a household name and global trendsetter. It dominated charts in 19 countries, spent 10 consecutive weeks at No. 1 in the UK, and held the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for seven weeks. After her Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show in 2023, the hit re-entered the Hot 100—proof that its cultural impact remains as strong as ever.

Since her debut with “Pon de Replay” in 2005, Rihanna has amassed 14 No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100—more than any other artist in the first quarter of the 21st century—and the third-most in the chart’s history. With 32 Top 10 hits and 63 total entries, she’s seamlessly blended pop, R&B, and dancehall, shaping the global sound of modern pop music. All eight of her studio albums have reached the Top 10 on the Billboard 200, with Unapologetic (2012) and Anti (2016) both debuting at No. 1. Despite not releasing a new studio album since Anti, Rihanna’s influence has only grown stronger—her catalog continues to thrive in the streaming era, with timeless hits like “We Found Love” and “Love on the Brain” each surpassing billions of streams.

Her impact goes far beyond music. Billboard recently ranked her the No. 2 woman artist of the 21st century, honoring not just her commercial dominance but her cultural relevance. Between her billion-dollar Fenty Beauty empire, her work in fashion and philanthropy, and her ability to command attention without constant releases, Rihanna has redefined what it means to be a global icon. In September 2025, she welcomed her third child and first daughter, Rocky Irish Mayers, with longtime partner A$AP Rocky, balancing motherhood with moguldom.

As fans continue to await her ninth studio album, Rihanna’s latest streaming milestones reaffirm what the world already knows — her legacy isn’t built on moments, but eras. Eighteen years after “Umbrella” changed pop forever, the Caribbean-born superstar remains one of the most powerful and influential artists of her generation — still breaking records, still shaping culture, and still reigning supreme.
