Dancehall legend Bounty Killer has extended his congratulations to former rival-turned-colleague Beenie Man on the reinstatement of his U.S. visa. In a celebratory Instagram post, Bounty, born Rodney Price, shared a headline announcing the news, captioned, “Congrats mi coworker skyline who fi stop e zaga” alongside festive emojis. The warm acknowledgement from the “Poor People’s Governor” was met with an equally heartfelt response from Beenie Man, who commented, “Thank you Sir Price OD Mi Bredda – Mi a manifest fi see you at ‘Guess Who’s Back NYC 2025.” Fans of both icons flooded the post with praise, revelling in the camaraderie between the two dancehall stalwarts.

While Beenie Man’s reinstated visa signals a new chapter in his career, Bounty Killer’s own visa challenges remain unresolved. Despite regaining his U.K. visa in September 2023 after a 13-year hiatus, the “Warlord” has yet to secure a U.S. work permit. Speculation around the reasons for his prolonged restriction often points to his past affiliation with Tivoli Gardens strongman Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke. However, Bounty has refuted these claims, noting in an interview with The FIX that another allegation about a minor marijuana charge in the U.S. could not have been the primary factor. “It’s not about the weed charge,” he explained, emphasizing the complexities of his situation and the evolving geopolitical dynamics that might be at play.

For Beenie Man, the reinstatement of his visa is a triumphant return to a lucrative market he has been barred from for over a decade. In his announcement, delivered through a spirited freestyle on Instagram, the “King of the Dancehall” jubilantly declared, “Everything sweet again one more time, American visa come again, one more time.” Expressing gratitude, he wrote, “Thank you AMERICA & JAMAICA for this great travel opportunity once again!” and promised fans, “America, me soon faawud.” His comeback is poised to reignite his connection with U.S. audiences, paving the way for new collaborations and electrifying performances.

The contrasting visa fortunes of these two icons highlight the broader challenges dancehall artists often face in navigating international travel restrictions. Yet, their mutual respect and support exemplify the unity that continues to elevate the genre. As fans eagerly anticipate Beenie Man’s return to U.S. stages, they also hold hope that Bounty Killer’s visa hurdles will soon be resolved, allowing both legends to share the spotlight and continue shaping dancehall’s global legacy.
