As 2023 drew to a close, dancehall songstress Ishawna decided to share the truth behind the persistent challenges she has grappled with throughout her career, terming them as “targeted attacks.” In a candid statement to her followers, Ishawna sheds light on the ongoing issues, specifically focusing on the hurdles she faces on social media platforms.

“In dealing with this frustrating matter privately for years, today, I find it crucial to make it public because of the misconceptions about my artistry and, most importantly, to be transparent with my fans,” Ishawna asserts in her statement.

The artist disclosed the constant targeted attacks on her social media platforms that have hindered her ability to connect and communicate effectively with her audience.

“You might sometimes think I’m being inconsistent with music releases or always going ghost for no reason, but the real reason is that I’m deeply discouraged to put out music because of the severe sabotage and restrictions I’m fighting against every day to make sure my content is seen, heard, and reciprocated,” Ishawna reveals, providing insight into the internal struggles affecting her artistic output. The statement delves into her private battle, contributing to the perception of inconsistency in her music releases and occasional social media hiatus.

Highlighting the severity of the challenges she confronts daily, Ishawna emphasizes the struggle to ensure her content not only gets created but also reaches her dedicated audience. “My YouTube and multiple search engines have all been compromised, making it difficult for my fans to find and support my music,” she states, shedding light on the extended impact of the attacks beyond social media.

Despite the hurdles, Ishawna expresses gratitude for the unwavering support from her fans. “Being a strong, opinionated woman in this industry comes with its challenges, but the love and support from you all continue to inspire and sustain me through all the adversities,” she acknowledges. The artist recognizes the crucial role her fans play in providing inspiration and resilience through the challenges she faces as a strong, opinionated woman in the music industry.

As Ishawna steps into the new year, she reaffirms her commitment to fighting through these challenges. Her public revelation brings attention to the often unseen struggles faced by artists in a digital era dominated by social media platforms. It prompts important questions about the impact of targeted attacks on an artist’s creative expression and the industry’s responsibility to address such issues.

In closing her statement, Ishawna extends love to her fans, pledging to continue the fight for her artistry. “I love you guys so much? and I will continue to fight through it all,” she declared.
