Embattled dancehall superstar Popcaan embroiled in a looming legal battle with Solid Agency chief Sharon Burke continues to hit new career milestones amid the controversy.
The entertainer, whose given name is Andre Sutherland, this week earned another U.K. certification for the collaborative effort “Twist & Turn“. However, this particular achievement is notable, considering it’s his first time being the lead artiste on a project.
Featured on his FIXTAPE album, the Silver-certified single also boasts vocals from Canadian rap superstar Drake and PartyNextDoor.
The British Phonographic Industry (BPI) certified the song after it sold over 200,000 copies in the United Kingdom, as determined by The Official Charts Company.
The song was produced by Canadian Anthony Paul Jefferies, known professionally as Nineteen85 and for his work on Drake’s Hotline Bling, One Dance, and Too Good with Rihanna, and released by OVO Sound/Warner Records in August 2020.
