Despite his ongoing legal woes in Jamaica regarding an outstanding warrant and the impending trial involving disbarred attorney-at-law Jennifer Messado, dancehall star Mavado continues to win in his musical endeavours.
One of his latest exploits, “Blessed“, a collaboration with Ghanaian singer KiDi, has entered the Billboard Top Thriller Global Chart. Debuting at No.17 last week, the single continues to climb steadily and currently sits at the No.7 position.
In celebration, the Gully Side deejay, whose given name is David Brooks, took to Instagram to announce the achievement to his over 1.1 million followers, stating,
“Thanks to my fans in Africa and bless up my brother @kidimusic for putting me on this power house track see you soon Africa BLESS. ????.”
The official lyric video has amassed over 1.7 million views on Youtube since debuting in June.
According to Triller, the Billboard Top Triller Global chart features the most popular songs on the Triller platform based on a formula that combines the number of views of videos containing a respective song, the level of engagement with those videos, and the raw total of videos uploaded featuring each song.
