Dancehall artiste Tommy Lee Sparta has been transferred from the Tower Street Adult Correctional Center to a new facility.
It’s understood that he is currently being housed at another facility in St. Catherine. The transfer comes in the wake of a recent altercation with a correctional officer at the Kingston-based prison that left the entertainer hospitalized.
Despite the relocation, no official statement has been forthcoming from the prison authorities or the artiste’s legal representation regarding the matter.
In a post via social media, Tommy Lee Sparta’s management assured the deejay’s supporters that he is on the mend and in “good spirit.” Meanwhile the officer involed in the altercation has not been removed from frontline duty despite an ongoing investigation by The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM).
Tommy Lee Sparta whose given name is Leroy Russel is currently serving a three-year sentence for illegally possessing a firearm and ammunition.
