Last month’s Record Store Day 2024, hosted by VP Records in New York City, featured reggae crooner Romain Virgo among the special invitees. During the event, he announced plans for a series of concerts across the US East Coast, commencing in June.
This upcoming mini-tour, designed to promote his latest album, ‘The Gentle Man‘, will commence with his first performance at Toad’s Place in New Haven, Connecticut, on June 6. He will then proceed to the Crown Hill Theatre in Brooklyn, New York, for shows on June 7 and 8, concluding the series at The Ave Live in Philadelphia on June 9.
With summer fast approaching, the Jamaican vocalist aims to amplify his presence following the release of his fourth studio album, “The Gentle Man,” on March 1, 2024. This 12-track set marks a pivotal moment in Virgo’s illustrious career, further solidifying his position as a torchbearer for reggae’s fusion with R&B and Soul. Distributed via VP Records, the album serves as tangible evidence of the artist’s enduring legacy.
Collaborating with Nicholas ‘Nikko’ Bronwe, Virgo has crafted a musical masterpiece that showcases his evolution as an artist and embodies the essence of the “gentle man” persona. Notable contributions from producers Donovan ‘Don Corleon’ Bennett, Phillip ‘Winta’ James, and Maurice ‘Seani B’ Delaunay enrich the album’s sonic landscape. Virgo has also enlisted a stellar lineup of guest vocalists, including Jesse Royal, dancehall legend Capleton, Afrobeat sensation Patoranking, and dancehall star Masicka.
