Prominent sound system selector and Boom Energy Drink brand ambassador, “Boom Boom,” recently used one of his weekly events as a platform to launch an unexpected verbal attack on several members of the entertainment industry, including Naro from The FIX Podcast and fellow emcee Nuffy.
In a heated moment during the event, Boom Boom halted the music to directly address Naro and Nuffy, though the specific reasons for his discontent remained unclear. He directed derogatory language towards Naro, even referring to him as “he/she,” while also cautioning Nuffy about his alleged inability to make a successful return to the Jamaican scene and his perceived waning relevance in the current dancehall music landscape.
Responding to the situation, Naro, in the latest edition of Quik Fix, a weekly roundup of entertainment news on the platform, expressed his bewilderment regarding the source of conflict with the well-known selector. Naro suggested that any issues could have been resolved through a personal conversation rather than resorting to public confrontation.
Naro later shared that the roots of the disrespect could potentially be traced back to an interview with DJ Banka, who has had differences with Boom Boom in the past. Although the interview focused on sabotage in the music industry, no mention of Boom Boom was explicitly made by anyone during the exchange.Â
Despite the crude remarks made during the event, Naro told Prism Marketing Consultants that he holds no hostility toward the disc jock and will not harbour prejudice due to the uttered statements.
