Dancehall producer Shab Don has been charged with three counts of murder relating to an incident in Rose Heights, St. James, last month.
The accused, whose given name is Linval Thompson Jr., was charged after being questioned in the presence of his attorney Donahue Martin. He was also slapped with two counts of shooting with intent.
According to the Major Investigation Division of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), Shab Don’s charges stem from a triple homicide in Rose Heights, St James. The fatal incident occurred on May 25, resulting in the death of three persons, including 27-year-old Chadwell “Bomb Brain” Fraser, Chamario “Chippy” Calvin (24-year-old) and the lone female victim Toniann Reid (25-year-old). They were all in attendance at a birthday party.
Following the incident, the music producer was picked up by the Joint Anti-Gang Task Force on June 3 while driving on the North-South Highway in St. Catherine.
St James has seen an increase in murders due to an ongoing conflict between two rival gangs, according to Area One Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Clifford Chambers.
In April, the dancehall producer was acquitted of all charges relating to another case for firearms and ammunition in the Gun Court.
