In recent weeks, Jamaican songstress Jada Kingdom has been the centrepiece of much conversation surrounding a rumoured romance with Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy.
Following a spirited performance at the just concluded Reggae Sumfest in Catherine Hall, Montego Bay, the “Heavy” hitmaker sat down with popular media outlet Zip 103FM backstage for an interview. During the exchange, the salacious topic of her rumoured romance with the African giant was broached as the interviewers asked,
“duh want put yuh on the spot too much, but there is a likkle rumour going around, word on the street is Jada and Burna Boy, yuh wah talk bout that?”
“Oh! I am on the street every day. I’ve never heard that,” Jada retorts, adding, “Oh! He did! I will have to listen to it” when further pressed that she was named dropped by the superstar on the remix of Byron Messia’s hit “Talibans.”
Based on the bevvy of comments across various social platforms, some have opined that Jada is being sarcastic or disingenuous with her response. While others have lauded her for diplomatically suggesting they stay out of her personal affairs.
Speculations of a romantic connection between Burna Boy and Jada Kingdom have been circulating for weeks, fueled by the “GPP” singer after she was spotted wearing a “Damini” necklace similar to Burna Boy’s and also photoed backstage at one of his concerts. The remix has further intensified these reports and amplified conversations within the entertainment community.
