Prominent dancehall artiste Alkaline and his family are in mourning following the recent passing of his father, Earl Bartley, affectionately known as ‘Rooster.’
The entertainer, whose real name is Earlan Bartley, has yet to address the loss publicly. Checks via his official Instagram account feature several cryptic posts depicting a blank white captionless canvas.

Alkaline’s sister and manager, Kerry, confirmed their father’s passing. She expressed her grief, stating, “He has passed, I don’t know what to say in a situation like this.” She also emphasized that she could only speak for herself and not her brother during this difficult period. Kerry expressed gratitude for the respect for privacy shown since the revelation and kindly requested that this continue during this challenging time for her and the family.
Although the nature of the illness remains undisclosed, Kerry shared that their father’s passing was peaceful, with family members surrounding him during his final moments.
