Top-flight Jamaican deejay Skeng, signed to an American-based record label owned by Rap superstar Nicki Minaj, has officially landed in Europe. The rising star is currently in Paris, France, where he delivered a noteworthy performance to a packed house. The charged crowd can be seen in several videos making the rounds on social media.
During the performance, a shirtless Skeng poured water on himself as he amped the crowd while delivering three of his biggest hits, “Gvnman Shift“, “Protocol“, and “London,” with patrons singing in unison. The video evidence is a testament to the deejay’s growing popularity and ability to captivate audiences.
Skeng, named Kevon Douglas, gained popularity in 2021 with his infectious sound that attracted fans worldwide. Even Trinidadian rapper Nicki Minaj took note which led to his subsequent signing. Though details of the agreement were not made public, Skeng’s close associates confirmed the transition with Prism Marketing Consultants and disclosed that it had been in the works for quite some time.
Skeng’s team, which comprises Cara Vickers (General Manager), Jon Baker (Co-owner/Executive at Geejam), and Attorney-at-law Rodney Bourde, made several trips to Los Angeles, California, to finalize the details of the record label deal.
Earlier this year, we reported that Skeng had signed another deal that would see him touring extensively in the United States. The move aims to expand the artist’s brand, and his team is working with a tour partner who understands Skeng’s brand and creative persona to tailor his tour schedule to ensure he performs in some of the best venues.
