Recording artiste Nickcarlos Gordon, better known by his stage name 1neportal, has recently entered the dancehall scene with his debut EP, “1ne 1ne.”
Hailing from Waterhouse, Kingston, Jamaica, he is no stranger to the music industry, having previously recorded numerous singles. 1neportal gained significant attention on Instagram following a viral video showcasing his musical talent.
“1ne 1ne” is a compilation of songs that unpacks 1neportal’s versatility as an artist, featuring genres ranging from Trap-Dancehall to Afrobeats. The EP aims to give listeners an immersive experience, showcasing the artist’s penmanship. 1neportal hopes that the project will capture the attention of fans while also showing respect to his loyal followers, stating, “onefamily.”
The EP was produced by Tripledose Production, a prominent Canadian/Jamaican-based label that connected with 1neportal after his viral moment. The outfit quickly got to work on their first release, “Henney Fi Tea,” accompanied by an official music video. The single and music video were well received by industry players and dancehall enthusiasts, obtaining thousands of views and streams across various musical platforms.
“Henney Fi Tea” is included as a bonus track, bringing the offerings to seven on the EP. The compilation was mixed and mastered by the competent Rolando “RB” Blake. It was released on March 31, 2023, featuring local and international collaborations, including Laa Lee, Lody music from Tanzania, and Addi Self from Ghana. 1neportal’s “1ne 1ne” EP is a promising debut, and fans are eager to see what the artist has in store for the future.
