Vibrant entertainer Elephant Man, who has been relatively quiet on the local entertainment scene, is about to give dancehall fans a “Cool Reminder” of why he is known as the “Energy Gad.”
The veteran deejay, given name O’Neil Bryan is now preparing to release an album later this month. The eight-track set aptly titled “Cool Reminder” is spearheaded by accomplished production outfit NotNice Records and exudes a combination of authentic dancehall and party anthems.
According to the Energy Gad, a title earned from his high-intensity performances throughout the years, he believes the upcoming project is among his best work since emerging on the dancehall scene almost three decades ago. The compilation also marks his first album release in seven years.
A prominent figure in the Jamaican entertainment industry Elephant Man made his major label debut in late 2003 with, Good 2 Go, amid creating a storm on the urban airwaves with his infectious “Pon di River“. In 2008, his Let’s Get Physical album appeared on the VP imprint in partnership with P. Diddy’s Bad Boy Records. It featured the single “Five-O” with Wyclef Jean, the album also featured appearances by Chris Brown and Busta Rhymes.Â
Featuring the Jamaican hit “Nuh Linga,” the 2011 effort Dance & Sweep! Adventures of the Energy God found him back on VP. In 2013, he appeared on Major Lazer’s album Free the Universe and has released several intermittent singles since and continues to tour worldwide.
