Dancehall entertainer Flippa Moggela’s U.S. federal drug conspiracy case has been postponed for the fifth time, with the entertainer now scheduled to return to court on January 8, 2027, as plea negotiations continue. Flippa, whose given name is Andrew Davis, will remain in custody alongside co-accused Damion Jones and Clifford Brown following a request from his attorney and federal prosecutors for additional time to negotiate a possible agreement.
The latest delay means the three defendants will have spent eight months behind bars since their arrests in May 2026, when they were charged with conspiracy to distribute cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl. Both Flippa’s defence team and prosecutors have sought additional time to pursue plea negotiations, resulting in repeated extensions of the proceedings. Jones and Brown have also been granted 60-day extensions, with all three now scheduled to return before the court on January 8, 2027.
Meanwhile, the fourth defendant, 53-year-old James McBride, has already reached a plea agreement with federal prosecutors. McBride pleaded guilty in July to one count of conspiracy to distribute cocaine, an offence carrying a mandatory minimum sentence of five years and a maximum of 40 years in prison. Under the agreement, he is potentially facing up to eight years behind bars, with sentencing scheduled for December 1, 2026.
McBride’s guilty plea marks a significant development in the wider case, although it does not change the legal status of Flippa Mafia or the two remaining co-defendants. With another postponement now in place, attention will turn to McBride’s upcoming sentencing and whether Flippa and his co-accused reach plea agreements before their January court appearance.
