When D’Yani said every song on Live Life & Prosper carried “a lesson or a testimony”, the Jamaican singer could hardly have known that his debut album would soon add another chapter to that story. Days after its release, the 11-track project debuted at No. 3 on the U.S. iTunes Reggae Albums Chart while also making its presence felt on Apple Music in the Caribbean, reaching No. 3 in Saint Kitts & Nevis and No. 17 in Jamaica.
The early chart success adds fresh momentum to D’Yani’s growing profile as one of Jamaica’s emerging reggae talents. Blending reggae, ska and lovers rock, Live Life & Prosper draws on stories of love, struggle, hope and purpose, with tracks including “Journey”, “Live A Little”, “Dutchpot”, “Miss You Bad”, “Blooming”, “Fi Mi Mama” and “Jah Has Been Too Good”. Music videos for “Dutchpot” and “Miss You Bad” have also helped bring the album’s personal narratives to life.
The project arrives after a period of increasing international visibility for the singer, including appearances such as DJ AG Fest and growing attention for his music beyond Jamaica. Speaking about the album’s message, D’Yani said, “Every song carries a lesson or a testimony, and I hope people can find a piece of themselves in these stories.”
For D’Yani, the album’s title represents more than a musical statement. Live Life & Prosper is a personal philosophy centred on hope, purpose and finding joy beyond life’s challenges. Now, with an early No. 3 debut on the U.S. iTunes Reggae Albums Chart and additional Apple Music placements across the Caribbean, the singer’s latest testimony may be turning into a significant new chapter in his career.
