The spotlight surrounding Skippa’s ongoing lyrical feud with fellow dancehall artiste Malie Donn appears to be coinciding with the biggest breakthrough of his career. Just weeks after earning three nominations at the upcoming 2026 Caribbean Music Awards, the fast-rising deejay now boasts three songs in the Top 5 on Jamaica’s YouTube Music Trending chart, while simultaneously enjoying impressive Apple Music success across the Caribbean. The latest achievements further amplify Skippa’s status as one of dancehall’s fastest-growing stars in 2026.

Leading the charge is ‘Glocks and Chips’, which currently sits at No. 1 on Jamaica’s YouTube Music Trending chart, followed by ‘Dead Opps’ at No. 2, while ‘Detox’ rounds out the trio at No. 4. The momentum extends well beyond YouTube. On Apple Music, Detox reached No. 1 in Jamaica and charted across several Caribbean territories, including Antigua and Barbuda, the Cayman Islands, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Turks and Caicos, Guyana and Grenada. Glocks and Chips also secured Top 10 positions in multiple regional markets, while Dead Opps continued its own cross-Caribbean run, highlighting Skippa’s expanding audience beyond his home country.

The commercial success comes on the heels of major industry recognition. Skippa has been nominated in three categories at the 2026 Caribbean Music Awards: Dancehall Song of the Year for WYFL, Best New Artist, and the Impact Award. The nominations represent a significant milestone for the artiste, who has steadily built momentum over the past year through a string of viral releases and growing regional support.

Meanwhile, Skippa’s highly publicised lyrical exchanges with Malie Donn continue to dominate conversations across social media and within dancehall circles, helping to keep both artistes firmly in the spotlight. Whether the rivalry has directly contributed to the surge in streams is impossible to quantify. However, the timing is difficult to ignore. As debate surrounding the clash continues, Skippa’s chart performance, award recognition and expanding Caribbean reach suggest the attention is translating into tangible career gains. With the Caribbean Music Awards approaching and his music continuing to trend, the dancehall artiste appears well positioned to capitalise on one of the strongest runs of his career.
