As Popcaan closes in on 2 billion Spotify streams globally, the dancehall heavyweight is simultaneously creating another symbolic collaboration. The Unruly Boss has teamed up with Likkle Vybz, son of Vybz Kartel, on the new single Clean, marking Popcaan’s first official recording with one of the sons of the man who helped launch his career. Combined with streaming data showing more than 1 billion streams generated from collaborations alone, the moment highlights both Popcaan’s global reach and his enduring connection to dancehall’s most influential musical lineage.
According to updated Spotify chart data dated June 24, Popcaan has amassed over 1.93 billion streams across 266 tracks on the platform. More than 1.05 billion of those streams come from featured appearances, reinforcing his status as one of dancehall’s most successful crossover collaborators. His biggest streaming records include Saturnz Barz with Gorillaz, I Know There’s Gonna Be (Good Times) with Jamie xx, and TWIST & TURN featuring Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR, which continues pulling more than 54,000 daily streams.
Meanwhile, Clean arrives as one of the standout tracks from producer Joel Engineer’s Unlocked Riddim project. The collaboration carries deeper significance within dancehall culture, reconnecting Popcaan with the extended musical legacy of Vybz Kartel, the artiste who famously introduced him to the world as his protégé during the late 2000s. On the track, Popcaan and Likkle Vybz exchange confident verses centred on success, wellness, and elevated living, while showcasing a chemistry that has already sparked strong reactions from fans online.
“Seeing Popcaan and Likkle Vybz on a song together is a special moment, not just for me as a producer but for dancehall,” Joel Engineer shared. “From the beginning, I wanted the Unlocked Riddim to bring together different sounds, different generations and music that people can genuinely connect with.”
The release further strengthens Popcaan’s influence across generations of dancehall. While his streaming numbers continue climbing globally, collaborations like Clean prove the Unruly Boss remains firmly connected to the roots and relationships that helped shape his rise. With additional tracks from the Unlocked Riddim still to come, fans are already anticipating what could become one of the summer’s defining dancehall projects.
