Just weeks after confirming that his third studio album is complete, Jamaican dancehall heavyweight Masicka has intensified anticipation surrounding the project after securing five nominations at the 2026 Caribbean Music Awards. The deejay earned recognition in several major categories including Male Dancehall Artist of the Year, Dancehall Album of the Year for Her Name Is Love, and Dancehall Song of the Year for Rich Sex, further cementing his status as one of the genre’s most dominant and consistent forces.
The nominations arrive at a pivotal moment in Masicka’s career. On May 30, the artiste sent dancehall fans into a frenzy after posting the brief but telling message, “Album ready my side,” on X, confirming that his long-awaited third studio album had officially been completed. Although the entertainer has yet to reveal the album’s title, release date, or featured collaborations, the announcement immediately sparked speculation across social media, with many fans predicting another defining era for the deejay.
Now, the Caribbean Music Awards nominations have added even more momentum to the rollout. Alongside his nod for Her Name Is Love, Masicka also secured nominations for Dancehall Video of the Year for Rich Sex and Reggae Collaboration of the Year for Romantic alongside reggae singer Lila Iké. The broad range of categories reflects the artiste’s continued versatility, balancing hard-hitting dancehall records with melodic and crossover collaborations that have expanded his audience beyond Jamaica.
The 2026 Caribbean Music Awards, which unveiled over 250 nominees across more than 40 categories, has already generated major conversation online, particularly around the dominance of dancehall and the rise of genre-blending Caribbean acts. While Lady Lava emerged as the most nominated artiste with nine nods overall, Masicka’s five nominations have positioned him among the leading male dancehall acts heading into the awards season.
Meanwhile, fans continue to speculate about what direction Masicka’s upcoming album could take following the success of Her Name Is Love and recent singles. With anticipation building rapidly and awards momentum now on his side, all eyes are firmly locked on the deejay’s next move as what could become one of dancehall’s biggest releases of the year edges closer.
