As Stephen ‘Di Genius’ McGregor continues rolling out the “Hill and Gully” riddim, the producer is already seeing early chart success across key platforms. On the U.S. iTunes Reggae Songs chart, Valiant’s Woii currently sits at No.5 while Masicka’s Slip & Slide holds the No.6 spot. Meanwhile, Slip & Slide has climbed to No.1 on YouTube’s Trending Music chart and also leads Apple Music’s Top 25 in Kingston, signalling that the riddim is steadily infiltrating both local and international spaces as the rollout gains momentum.
At the centre of this measured rise is McGregor, who is positioning “Hill and Gully” as more than a one-off juggling. Rooted in traditional Jamaican influences, the project is unfolding as a carefully curated body of work, with each release adding to its growing presence across the dancehall ecosystem. Rather than peaking all at once, the riddim is building traction gradually, reflecting a strategic rollout that prioritises longevity and cultural resonance.
Meanwhile, the expansion is already underway. In a recent Instagram update, McGregor teased new releases including Govana’s upcoming single Itsy Bitsy, while hinting at more drops in the days ahead. He also thanked supporters and revealed that he is vetting submissions from various artistes for inclusion in the official compilation. However, he noted that the process will take time, as his current focus remains on the core tracks he initially produced, featuring acts such as Elephant Man among others.
With momentum building and more releases on the horizon, the “Hill and Gully” riddim is shaping into a slow-burning movement within dancehall—one that continues to expand its reach while reinforcing the genre’s connection to both its roots and its future.
