One year after releasing BLXXD & FYAH, the album that would propel him to Grammy glory, Keznamdi is officially entering his next musical chapter. Following a successful run of live performances, including a cameo appearance during Masicka’s headline concert at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, the “Forever Grateful” hitmaker has confirmed that he is back in the studio and has begun work on his third studio album. The development comes as the Jamaican reggae star also prepares for a major U.S. tour with Live Nation in October.
Released on August 22, 2025, BLXXD & FYAH became a landmark project for Keznamdi, eventually winning the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album at the 2026 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. The anniversary of its release arrives at another particularly active moment for the artiste, whose music and activism have also gained renewed attention through Beach Inna Bondage: The Fight for Jamaica’s Coastline, the documentary collaboration with the Jamaica Beach Birthright Environmental Movement (JaBBEM).
Directed by Emiel Martens and Elsie Vermeer in collaboration with JaBBEM and Keznamdi, the documentary explores the grassroots struggle to protect public access to Jamaica’s coastline and beaches. With Keznamdi’s music woven throughout the film, the project has created a powerful connection between his artistic catalogue and his advocacy. That visibility recently helped spark a resurgence on the U.S. iTunes Reggae Albums Chart, where his 2017 EP Skyline Vol. 1 climbed 91 places to No. 9, while BLXXD & FYAH jumped 89 places to No. 11. Beach Inna Bondage has also been nominated for Best Documentary at the inaugural 2026 Caribbean Film Awards, scheduled for October 10 in Wilmington, Delaware.
While Keznamdi has remained tight-lipped about the sound, title and release plans for his third album, he confirmed to Prism Marketing Consultants that work on the project has begun. For now, however, attention is also turning to his upcoming Live Nation U.S. tour in October, which will take the Grammy-winning reggae artiste across several major American cities. With a Grammy, a documentary nomination, renewed chart momentum and a new album now in development, Keznamdi appears to be building on one of the most defining periods of his career while setting the stage for what comes next.
