Fresh off a major international certification and a surge in global streaming momentum, Skillibeng is accelerating his crossover run with a bold new release. Just days after securing a U.S. Gold plaque from the Recording Industry Association of America for the remix of “Shake It To The Max (Fly),” featuring Moliy, Shenseea and Silent Addy, the dancehall star has returned with “Ballerina,” a cross-continental collaboration featuring Nigerian Afrobeats powerhouse Rema and production duo Silent Addy and Disco Neil, signalling another strategic move in his expanding global takeover.
The Gold-certified remix surpassed 500,000 units in combined sales and streaming equivalents, driven by more than 400 million streams and over 243 million YouTube views. The track also peaked at No. 44 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart, reinforcing Skillibeng’s growing dominance in cross-continental collaborations. The milestone marks his second RIAA Gold as a featured act, following his international breakthrough on “Jump” alongside Tyla and Gunna, further cementing his role as one of dancehall’s most globally aligned voices.
Released via Bashment Worldwide and Encore Recordings, “Ballerina” blends dancehall’s rhythmic intensity with Afrobeats finesse. The single also launches the Bashment Sound artist project and arrives with a visually striking music video directed by Miklas Manneke and produced by We Own The City, the company owned by STILLZ, who previously served as creative director for Bad Bunny’s performance at Super Bowl LX alongside Nouvelle Films. The visual balances sleek choreography with gritty textures, matching the track’s high-energy sonic palette.
According to Disco Neil, the collaboration marks the first time Skillibeng and Rema have appeared on a record together, intentionally crafted to deliver instant global appeal. The release follows Bashment Sound’s previous smash “Shake It to the Max (Fly) (Remix)” featuring Shenseea and MOLIY, which surpassed one billion streams worldwide. With additional international collaborations already spanning acts like Wizkid, Asake, and Sarz, Skillibeng’s latest move underscores dancehall’s deepening connection with Africa’s streaming boom—while positioning “Ballerina” as another global anthem in the making.
