Behind one of the most infectious cross-continental hits of the past year, Moliy, Skillibeng, Shenseea and producer Silent Addy have secured another major global breakthrough after their viral Afro-dancehall smash Shake It To The Max (Fly) earned Gold certification in the United States. The honour, awarded by the Recording Industry Association of America, underscores the accelerating global appetite for Caribbean and African crossover sounds.

Certified on February 23 after surpassing 500,000 units in combined sales and streaming equivalents, the track marks a second U.S. Gold milestone for Moliy, Skillibeng and Shenseea, while delivering a first for producers Silent Addy and Disco Neil. The remix dominated digital platforms throughout 2025, amassing more than 400 million streams on Spotify and over 243 million views on YouTube, cementing its status as one of the biggest Afro-dancehall crossover records of the year.

The certification adds to an expanding list of international achievements, including Platinum status in France and Gold certifications in the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Greece. The record’s viral momentum surged following its TikTok dance challenge rollout and later translated into chart success, peaking at No. 44 on the Billboard Hot 100 while topping the U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart. For Moliy, the milestone follows the global success of Sad Girlz Luv Money with Amaarae, while Shenseea and Skillibeng previously secured U.S. Gold recognition through collaborations including Pure Souls with Kanye West and Jump alongside Tyla and Gunna.

Speaking about the record’s identity, Silent Addy emphasised its dancehall foundation despite its Afrobeats chart placement, noting that the genre’s evolving global sound continues to blur traditional boundaries. Meanwhile, Disco Neil credited the track’s simple, infectious melody and European shatta influence for its wide appeal across audiences. With the production duo now preparing to release Ballerina featuring Skillibeng and Rema, the success of “Shake It To The Max (Fly)” signals that the Afro-dancehall wave is not slowing down anytime soon.
