Funeral arrangements have been finalised for Susan Smith, the respected Jamaican publicist and author widely known as Susan PR, whose passing in January left a void across the Caribbean entertainment and media landscape. The Thanksgiving service for the late communications strategist will take place on March 8 at Campbell’s Castle Seventh-day Adventist Church, celebrating a life dedicated to amplifying Caribbean talent locally and internationally.

According to the official schedule, grave preparation was conducted on February 22 at Brokenhurst Cemetery, with funeral setup set for March 6 at Campbell’s Castle Primary and Infant School in Windsor Forest, South Manchester. The Thanksgiving service will begin at 11:00 a.m., bringing together family, industry stakeholders and members of the entertainment fraternity to honour Smith’s lasting cultural impact.

Smith, the founder and CEO of Powerhouse Global Media, passed away on January 21, 2026, at Mandeville Regional Hospital after reportedly seeking medical treatment following a sudden illness. A graduate of University of the West Indies, Mona, she built a reputation as one of Jamaica’s most influential behind-the-scenes media professionals, shaping narratives that helped position Caribbean creatives on the global stage.

Beyond publicity, Smith also made her mark as a children’s author and cultural storyteller, producing affirming literature that celebrated Black identity while mentoring emerging talent across media and entertainment. As tributes continue to pour in from artistes, journalists and publicists, her legacy stands as a blueprint for professionalism, purpose and passion—ensuring her voice will continue to echo through the region’s creative industries for years to come.
