In the wake of Hurricane Melissa’s devastating impact on western Jamaica, Team Notnice — led by renowned producer Notnice alongside recording artistes Jah Vinci and Nordia Mothersille — is turning their musical influence into meaningful action. The team recently joined forces with Lion Pride Jamaica and several corporate partners to deliver relief supplies to over 100 families hardest hit by the storm, proving that community and compassion still top the charts.

Despite demanding music schedules, the group hit the road last week, distributing essential items and sharing hope in areas where livelihoods were destroyed. In a heartfelt post shared on Instagram, the team wrote: “United for a cause! Lion Pride Jamaica and @notnicerecords come together to support Hurricane Melissa relief efforts. Every bit counts, and together we can make a difference!” The gesture was followed by another post capturing the team in action with the caption, “Another successful day, give a thanks oh jah #blessings foreva ????? big respect to the team — forever grateful, ‘OUT OF MANY ONE PEOPLE.’”

According to the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM), approximately 90,000 families were directly affected by the hurricane, which tore through New Hope, Westmoreland, as a Category 5 storm. The agency reported that over 120,000 buildings lost their roofs, and at least 27 communities remain isolated across St. Elizabeth, St. James, and Trelawny. Commander Alvin Gayle, ODPEM’s Director General, confirmed that while access has been restored to most areas, significant recovery challenges persist.

For Team Notnice, this initiative represents more than charity—it’s a statement of solidarity. Known for crafting some of dancehall’s biggest anthems, Notnice and his crew are using their platform to inspire tangible change. Their relief drive reflects a growing movement among Jamaican entertainers using their influence beyond the studio to uplift their communities.

As recovery efforts continue, Team Notnice’s contribution serves as a reminder that music and unity remain powerful forces — capable not only of healing hearts but rebuilding homes.
