NO PLACE LIKE HOME: Jesse Royal’s Third Studio Album Arrives August 29 With Features From Romain Virgo & Kabaka Pyramid

Grammy-nominated reggae singer Jesse Royal is set to release his highly anticipated third studio album, NO PLACE LIKE HOME, on Friday, August 29, marking another powerful chapter in his career as one of Jamaica’s most vibrant voices of roots and culture. The project brings together a diverse roster of collaborators, including Canadian soulstress Melanie Fiona, GRAMMY-winning lyricist Kabaka Pyramid, roots veteran Perfect Giddimani, and reggae crooner Romain Virgo, who appears on the stirring single “Hope.” With 10 tracks in total, the album blends previously released favourites such as “Blessing” featuring Yohan Marley — an emotional tribute to his late friend Jo Mersa Marley — alongside fresh, introspective material crafted to inspire and uplift.

The album arrives on the heels of an eventful year for the Modern Day Judas hitmaker, whose international presence continues to expand. Earlier in 2025, Jesse Royal embarked on a successful multi-city tour across Brazil, performing in São Paulo, Pipa RN, Salvador, and Campinas. In a statement before the tour, he told fans, “We’re bringing the vibes, the message, and the music straight to your hearts. And of course, I need to catch some ball game while I’m there.” His performances tapped into Brazil’s long-standing love affair with reggae music, further strengthening his global fanbase and reaffirming the genre’s enduring resonance outside Jamaica.

Shortly after returning home, Jesse Royal curated and launched the inaugural High Life Festival in Kingston on April 19. The event, which celebrated reggae, ganja culture, and Caribbean sounds, featured veteran Big Youth, rising star Jah 9, DYani, Jahshii and Ras-I among its standout acts. The festival’s success aligned Jesse with a growing tradition of Jamaican artistes like Tony Rebel, Popcaan, and Damian Marley, who have pioneered their own signature events to give fans curated cultural experiences. With the High Life Festival now firmly established, Jesse has positioned himself not only as a performer but also as a cultural curator and leader within the reggae landscape.

For Jesse, NO PLACE LIKE HOME is more than an album title — it’s a declaration of purpose. Rooted deeply in Jamaica’s traditions yet expansive in its vision, the project finds him reflecting on island life while addressing universal themes of resilience, love, and social consciousness. The collection underscores his role as a mentor and ambassador for reggae’s next generation, using his platform to amplify wisdom and positivity for youth both locally and abroad.

By balancing his global touring schedule, festival curating, and recording artistry, Jesse Royal continues to cement his place as one of reggae’s most important voices of the modern era. With NO PLACE LIKE HOME, he invites listeners to reconnect with the roots of the music while embracing its forward momentum — a reminder that for all his international acclaim, Jamaica remains at the heart of his story.
