After earning his very first platinum plaque for over one million units sold of Let’s Do It Again—a heartfelt reggae love ballad performed by Hawaiian singer J Boog and produced by Don Corleon Records and Wash House Music Inc—Grammy Award-winning reggae singer Gramps Morgan has added another major accolade to his already decorated career. The Morgan Heritage frontman is now the latest reggae artist to have his music featured in a major Hollywood production. His solo track If You’re Looking for Me is spotlighted in Tyler Perry’s brand-new Netflix film They Trippin: Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Destination Wedding, which premiered globally on Friday, July 11, 2025.

The inclusion of If You’re Looking for Me—a standout from Morgan’s 2022 solo album Positive Vibration—marks a significant moment, not just for the artist but for reggae music’s visibility in mainstream cinema. “It’s just a wonderful opportunity in this time to still be relevant,” Morgan shared. “This is the first time my song has been in a big kind of production like this, such as Tyler Perry… I just hope that this is a sign for many things to come and the future of Morgan Heritage’s catalogue.” The track’s soulful optimism and rootsy cadence made it a fitting choice for Perry’s wedding-themed dramedy, which continues the popular Madea franchise.

Gramps Morgan is no stranger to Hollywood recognition. In 1994, Morgan Heritage had songs featured in two films—Posse, directed by Mario Van Peebles, and Andre. More recently, the group contributed Hallelujah to Coming 2 America, the 2021 sequel to Eddie Murphy’s classic. These moments reflect an ongoing respect for the band’s artistry and their genre-crossing appeal. However, this latest feature stands out as Gramps’ first solo inclusion in such a high-profile production, reinforcing his personal evolution and impact outside the family group.

That journey—rooted in reggae royalty—has taken Gramps from global stages to the big screen, and now to Netflix’s worldwide streaming audience. With Perry’s films often trending within hours of release, If You’re Looking for Me is poised for a surge in streams and renewed fan appreciation. More than just a placement, the feature represents a cultural win, elevating Jamaican music in a space traditionally dominated by other genres.

“I’m looking for all Jamaicans worldwide to go and support it,” Gramps said passionately. “Be proud that one of us has been looked at, and one of our songs from the entire reggae and dancehall catalogue has been found worthy again.” As the industry celebrates this moment, Morgan’s momentum serves as a reminder that reggae—timeless and powerful—continues to find new life in the global entertainment landscape.
