With a crowd of over 12,500 fans in attendance, the London leg of the tour marked a triumphant return for the “Champion Boy” deejay, who hadn’t performed in the U.K. in eight years. “London, yuh large! Unuh energy mad,” Alkaline shouted to roaring applause, as the venue transformed into a sea of lights, flags, and unadulterated dancehall energy.
Backed by stunning visuals, a live violinist, and seamless transitions between hit after hit, Alkaline proved once again why he remains one of the most influential figures in modern dancehall. From heartfelt performances of “Moving Mountains” and “Side Chick” to high-energy crowd favourites like “After All,” “Boss,” and “Cree,” the Vendetta Boss curated a setlist that spanned his extensive catalogue.
The magnitude of this performance places Alkaline in elite company—joining the likes of Michael Jackson and Madonna who’ve previously headlined the iconic Wembley stage. The event also spotlighted the genre’s rising stars, with newcomers Armanii and Rajahwild adding a fresh flair to the evening, signalling a new generational wave in dancehall’s evolution. With over 10.5 billion on-demand streams in 2024 alone (Billboard), the genre is clearly experiencing a global renaissance, and Alkaline is helping to steer the ship at full throttle.
