After captivating audiences worldwide, dancehall star Alkaline has unveiled plans for the second staging of his New Rules Festival in 2025, set to electrify Toronto’s Rebel Night Club on June 21. This revelation comes just months after Alkaline and New Era Productions confirmed the London edition of the festival, scheduled for April 17, 2025, at the OVO Arena Wembley. Fans in Toronto will now have the chance to experience the electrifying energy of this global event at Rebel Night Club, a premier venue renowned for its cutting-edge sound system and vibrant atmosphere, which perfectly complements the festival’s dynamic vibe.

Kereena Beckford, Alkaline’s manager, emphasized the growing demand for the festival, stating, “Alkaline’s brand and the unprecedented demand for the New Rules Festival are undeniable. As we diligently analyze our global fan base, which is experiencing exponential growth, we discern a clear yearning for culturally resonant and wholesome entertainment experiences. New Rules Festival embodies precisely this essence.” With the success of previous stagings in Kingston, Jamaica—which drew several thousand attendees in 2022—and major cities across the United States, New Rules Festival has become a hallmark of quality entertainment for dancehall and reggae fans worldwide.

The announcement of the Toronto staging further affirms Alkaline’s reputation as a leading figure in contemporary dancehall. Following his eight-year absence from the United Kingdom, the London show in April will mark a triumphant return to one of his key markets. The expansion into Toronto highlights the festival’s evolution into a truly international event, offering fans a chance to immerse themselves in a unique cultural experience.

Alkaline’s recent accolades underscore his global appeal. In 2023, he earned a BPI Silver certification for his collaboration with WSTRN on the track Txtin’, which showcased his versatility as an artist capable of crossing into different music genres. That same year, he became the face of Givenchy’s Spring-Summer 2023 men’s global advertising campaign, further solidifying his status as an emerging cultural icon and enhancing the festival’s appeal as a platform for global talent and cultural innovation.

With two major events already slated for 2025, Alkaline continues to redefine the boundaries of dancehall music. Fans across the globe eagerly await what promises to be a groundbreaking year for the New Rules Festival. As the excitement builds, whispers of additional surprises hint that this may only be the beginning of an even larger vision for the festival’s future.
