In the pulsating world of Reggae, where each beat carries the weight of cultural heritage and the promise of innovation, Nicko Rebel stands as a luminary. His latest production, “Steppah,” featuring Sharon Marley and the legendary Big Youth, not only pays homage to the roots of Reggae but also charts new territories in its sonic landscape. As a Platinum-selling and Grammy Award-winning producer, Nicko Rebel brings his unparalleled expertise to the forefront, weaving together a tapestry of sound that captivates audiences worldwide.

Born out of a desire to reconnect with his reggae roots, the concept behind “Steppah” emerged from Nicko’s deep-seated passion for the genre. Collaborating with talents like Syrix from Irievibrations and Leroy Romans from Mandarin Gates, Nicko crafted a riddim track that resonates with authenticity and innovation. The instrumental, initially dubbed “Sexy Time,” exudes a sensual allure while retaining the timeless essence of Reggae’s rhythm and groove.

Recorded at Mandarin Gates studio in South Florida and released under Sharon Marley’s label Gong Gyal Entertainment, “Steppah” is a testament to the power of collaboration and creative synergy. Working alongside Sharon Marley and Big Youth proved to be an exhilarating experience for Nicko, who praises Sharon’s professionalism and Big Youth’s legendary presence. He also used the opportunity to thank Camille Findley (@Talentpromocam) for being the conduit that brought the project to fruition. With vocals that seamlessly intertwine, “Steppah” transcends musical boundaries, inviting listeners on a journey through the heart and soul of Reggae.

As the driving force behind Nicko Rebel Music, his impact on the reggae scene is undeniable. His journey from the sound system culture to becoming a prolific producer and recording artist epitomizes dedication and passion. With an impressive catalogue that includes collaborations with industry stalwarts like Sizzla Kalonji and John Holt, Nicko continues to push the boundaries of creativity while staying true to his musical roots.

As fans eagerly anticipate his next projects, one thing is certain: Nicko Rebel’s commitment to excellence and innovation ensures that the reggae revival will continue to thrive for generations to come.
