Bounty Killer, a renowned figure on the dancehall scene, has once again used his platform to voice his concerns about the ongoing conflict in the Middle East involving Israel and Gaza.
Known for his fearless approach in addressing socio-economic and political issues, both locally and on the international stage, the Warlord recently took to social media, specifically Instagram, to share his thoughts.
In a video reel posted on his Instagram account, the outspoken deejay, often referred to as the ‘Poor People Governor,‘ showcased a montage of distressing scenes depicting the ongoing Israeli military siege on Gaza. This powerful visual was accompanied by the soundtrack of one of his recent collaborations, a track titled “Time Is Of Essence,” featuring Reggae contemporaries Julian Marley and Bugle.
The song, produced by CD Master’s ‘Inna Mi House Music’ recording label, is featured on Bugle’s latest album ‘Toxicity‘ and the deluxe edition. Although the song was released prior to the eruption of the conflict, its poignant lyrics are highly relevant to the atrocities being committed.
Bounty Killer captioned his post, stating, “TIME IS OF ESSENCE Out Now!! @julianrmarley feat. @1unogeneral @buglean9ted.”
The IG post received widespread support from the entertainment community, with many members expressing solidarity through fire emojis and offering thoughts and prayers for those affected by the conflict.
Speaking with Prism Marketing Consultants, the track’s producer, CD Master, shared his satisfaction with the positive feedback the song has received. However, he also laments his deep concern about the ongoing events in the Middle East, emphasizing the negative consequences of war and expressing hope for a swift resolution.
“The feedback to the song has been great; I have been getting a lot of positive feedback from people wanting the song, but it also saddens me what I see happening in the Middle East. War is never a good thing, and I truly hope the situation can resolve soon.”
Bugle, the lead artist on the project, acknowledged the renewed interest in the song and commended Bounty Killer for consistently standing up for truth and justice. He indicated that the song is readily available on his latest album, ‘Toxicity,’ for those seeking to listen. Bugle stressed the timeless nature of his music, highlighting its relevance even in the distant future, and promoted a message of love and unity amidst the current conflicts.
“I see the renewed interest. I’ve gotten a few calls from people asking where they can get the song. It’s on my latest album, so people can just go and check out ‘Toxicity’, and they will find it.” – He added.
Meanwhile, amid his music-related activities, Bounty Killer, who has been actively promoting his “Time Bomb” EP in collaboration with Baby Cham, recently concluded a tour of the United Kingdom and is expected to return to the Island soon.
