Veteran Dancehall artist Future Fambo, renowned for hits like “Rum and Red Bull” and “Bloodclaute,” recently addressed rumours surrounding his rapid weight loss.
In an Instagram post on Friday, October 6th, the artist shared a video of himself and another individual as he performed some of his classic tracks, including the 1994 hit “Kung Fu.” In the accompanying caption, Future Fambo acknowledged the concerns about his weight loss, stating,
“I know I lost nuff pounds, and it may look a way.” He further clarified that his weight loss is not due to illegal drugs but attributed to battling diabetes.
Although the veteran entertainer did not specify the type of diabetes he is dealing with, research indicates that uncontrolled weight loss is commonly associated with Type 1 diabetes. Future Fambo’s candid revelation aims to dispel misconceptions and reassure his fans and loved ones of his well-being. In another post, he announced plans to go live later that evening, intending to provide a visual reassurance to his family, affirming that he is in good health.
Amid this personal struggle, Future Fambo last year bid farewell to his beloved mother, Ms. Phoebe Henry, who passed away on Christmas Eve after a prolonged battle with diabetes. Throughout this challenging period, the entertainer received significant support from notable figures in the entertainment community, including Buju Banton, Bounty Killer, Sean Paul, Chris Martin, Mavado, Spragga Benz, and producer Seanizzle.
The sudden loss of his mother during a traditionally joyous and festive time has undoubtedly added to Fambo’s challenges, making his candid revelation about his health all the more poignant.
