Fresh from a successful stint at the Great Fete Weekend in Tobago, dancehall star Aidonia is keeping the momentum alive as he continues to enthral audiences during his Frsh Drop Tour 2023, spanning across the Caribbean and North America.

During a recent stop in Ocho Rios, coinciding with the Jamaican Independence weekend, Aidonia took the spotlight as the headliner for the “Allure” event, a highlight of the August 4-7 “Best Weekend Ever” party series.

Addressing the sizable crowd, the 4th Genna boss used his platform to emphasize the importance of unity within the dancehall community, paying homage to established stalwarts such as Bounty Killer, Sizzla Kalonji, Capleton, Vybz Kartel, Busy Signal, and Alkaline, Ding Dong. Interacting with the masses, he repeatedly asked, “Who else mi fi big up?” In response, the crowd fervently shouted “Masicka.” Without missing a beat, Aidonia acknowledged the suggestion, marking a positive moment as he recognized burgeoning talent.

This notable display of unity and maturity by Aidonia comes at a time when the industry clamours for collaborations and a harmonious environment to propel reggae and dancehall to greater heights globally. Aidonia’s willingness to put aside past conflicts with his contemporaries shows remarkable growth in his music career.

Adding to his recent triumphs, the “Big Red Boot” hitmaker was recently announced as a featured act for the highly anticipated “Under The Influence” concert, a summer event headlined by American R&B superstar Chris Brown. The lineup includes rising star Byron Messia from St. Kitts and Nevis, gaining recognition from his international hit “Talibans.”

Set to take place at Kingston’s National Stadium on Sunday, August 27, the “Under The Influence” concert guarantees an extraordinary musical experience, with a lineup that includes Jamaican-American singer Sean Kingston, as well as dancehall favourites Teejay and Ding Dong, promising an unforgettable evening for concertgoers.
