Acclaimed Reggae vocalist Bugle is gearing up for an exciting month ahead as he’s set to do battle against notable British and Caribbean counterparts in the “Best Album” category at this year’s Caribbean Afro Music Awards (CAMA) in the U.K.
Bugle’s album “Toxicity” is among the contenders, going head-to-head with “The Homeland” by Morgan Heritage, Yaadcore’s “Reggaeland“, “10 Thirty” by MzVee, “Rave and Roses” by Rema, and “No Love” courtesy of new sensation Byron Messia.
The CAM Awards 2023 seeks to recognise exceptional talent from Britain and around the world in the genres of Reggae, Dancehall, Soca, Latin Caribbean/Reggaeton, Gospel, and Afrobeats, including diverse styles and sounds from the African continent.
According to the organisers, “It is a vital celebration for our culture, as it recognises and honours the rich and diverse musical heritage. CAMA displays a powerful reminder of the significance of our music in shaping our identities and preserving our traditions for future generations.”
Aside from the Best Album award, other categories to be contested includes Best U.K. Act, Best Reggae, Soca and Dancehall Act, Best Breakthrough Act, and Best African Act. The ceremony will be graced by distinguished personalities from the entertainment industry, making it more prestigious.
The highly regarded award ceremony will air on RepDat TV on October 15, 2023. The public can cast their votes from August 1 to September 14, 2023, by visiting the official website at www.camawards.co.u.k
Throughout the years, some of the previous nominees include Busy Signal, Shenseea, Jidenna, D Major, Kuami Eugene, Julian Marley, Ir Sais, Lurine Cato, Alborosie, Gyptian, Spragga Benz, Konshens, Ding Dong plus many more.
On the heels of Bugle’s nomination, he is set to travel to the U.S. as one of the headliners for the inaugural Culture Fest on August 12 in Lauderhill, Florida, sharing the stage with renowned vocalists Etana, Lutan Fyah, Fanton Mojah and Natural Blacks, among others.
The event promises a fusion of roots reggae and dancehall, appealing to all age groups with positive messages and high energy.
