That potential received a further boost on Monday afternoon when footage surfaced online showing American rap superstar Cardi B at an event serving up her own rendition of the popular dance move created by Jamaican street phenom Gabbidon as Teejay’s hit blared in the background.
Although the video was not shared on Cardi B’s official Instagram account, which has a massive following of 168 million, its circulation on various social platforms potentially exposes it to her extensive fan base. Teejay, seizing the opportunity, reposted the video to his own Instagram account, boasting over one million followers, encouraging viewers to tag Cardi B and asking if they had mastered the dance move yet.

Teejay, based in Montego Bay, continues to experience an uptick in popularity, partially fueled by the global success of “Drift.” This triumph has led to lucrative deals with Warner Music Group and securing a pair of appearances at this weekend’s Reggae Sumfest and Chris Brown’s upcoming concert at the national stadium next month.
Meantime, in a recent show of support for nation-building, Teejay’s Timoy Jones Foundation pledged to donate J$500,000 to Jamaica’s Sunshine Girls during their send-off reception for the Vitality Netball World Cup in South Africa. The event, hosted by Minister of Sports, Youth, Culture, and Gender Olivia “Babsy” Grange, was held at the Knutsford Court Hotel in Kingston.
