Recording artiste and outspoken social critic, Tanya Stephens has bid farewell to Reggae Sumfest, voicing her grievances over challenges faced at this year’s highly publicised event at Catherine Hall, Montego Bay.
Following her performance on Saturday night, the singer spoke openly about the alleged scant regard meted out to her and the team by the organisers in the execution of their duty.
In a video now circulating on social media, Tanya Stephens addressed the challenges faced at the festival. Additionally, she expressed disappointment over her set being shortened by 15 minutes, impacting her presentation.
Among the hurdles encountered, proper lodging was a foremost issue. The six rooms provided were inadequate to house everyone, including her production outfit. Consequently, Tanya was forced to secure an Air BnB, an hour’s drive away, disrupting her show preparations.
Logistics problems continued as confusion and disorganisation surrounded transportation to the event. According to her, they were directed to an assembly point for a shuttle, unbeknownst to agents at the location, causing further frustration.
Despite the circumstances, Tanya Stephens’ resolute decision not to perform at Reggae Sumfest again exhibits her militancy. She expressed gratitude to her fans and team for their unwavering support.
