Frantz Morris, a popular dancehall artist known as Unknown Gringo, was tragically shot and killed in Trelawny on Friday (March 10) during a gun attack by unknown assailants.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) confirmed that Morris was shot while driving his Toyota Crown motorcar and was a resident of Retreat Heights in Falmouth, Trelawny. Social media has been inundated with photos of the incident.
“We are aware that there was a shooting involving a deejay in Trelawny,” a JCF representative stated.
Reports suggest that police were notified of the shooting at approximately 12:32 a.m. after residents heard gunshots. Morris was discovered in the driver’s seat of his car with gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Morris had initially adopted the moniker “No Face Unknown” and had garnered popularity with his hit single “Tank Up.”
