An investigation is underway after the residence of Kiprich, a popular dancehall artist, was robbed in Portmore, St. Catherine.
The deejay, whose real name is Marlon Plunkett, reported to the authorities that the burglars stole numerous jewellery items and thousands of US and Canadian dollars from his home on Saturday morning (March 11).
The thieves apparently gained access to Kiprich’s property by breaking a window.
More details will be forthcoming as the investigation continues.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time that the entertainer has been targeted by criminals. In 2014, his home was burglarized, and the thieves made off with valuables and jewellery amounting to over J$10 million. A suspect was subsequently arrested in connection with that incident.
Relating to that incident, the police report stated that on November 27, 2014, a group of people pretending to be Jamaica Public Service (JPS) personnel visited Kiprich’s home. They entered the premises and stole a chest containing jewellery valued at over $10.5 million, including a Presidential Rolex watch valued at over US$25,000.
Kiprich is best known for the popular songs “Telephone Ting,” “The Letter,” and “Joe Grind.”
