In a heartfelt message to his fans on Instagram, Jamaican entertainer Kranium announced his exit from Atlantic Records, which he described as the end of a “dope partnership”.
He expressed his gratitude to the label for their support, showcasing the numerous accolades he achieved during his tenure with the company. Recounting 2015, when he signed his 360 deal, Kranium underscored that he was the sole dancehall act signed to a major label, which was a challenging feat as a Jamaican artist based in New York City.
“I was the only Dancehall artist signed to a major when I did the deal and it wasn’t easy being a dancehall artist based in New York City,” he stated.
Though Kranium experienced many highs during the partnership, he also candidly revealed facing some unpleasant experiences as a dancehall artist in the United States, which is a risk that comes with taking chances.
“Although I had a lot of great moments I had terrible experience in the mix and thats what comes with taking chances!!,” – he noted.
The “Nobody Has To Know” hitmaker also expressed his gratitude to @breeroyal_ for fighting for him within the company and enabling him to achieve impressive feats such as over a billion collective streams, three silver certifications in the United Kingdom, a gold certification in America, and three certified gold and one platinum certification in Canada.
“With that being said I wanna thank @breeroyal_ for fighting for me in that building!! Over a Billion stream !! 3 silver in the UK! Certified Gold in America ! 3 Certified Gold and a Platinum in Canada that’s not a easy mountain to climb and we did that…” the singer declared.
Despite the end of his partnership with Atlantic Records, Kranium expressed his excitement as he embarks on a new journey,
“but we finally come to an end of a dope partnership thanks to the Atlantic team and everyone that supported me .. A “NEW” journey has officially begin! #freedom #vibes #newyork“
The New York-based artist, credited with two successful albums – Rumors in 2015 and Midnight Sparks in 2019 – is currently working on his third studio effort.
