Spotify has released an exclusive trailer to announce the imminent arrival of Davido’s highly anticipated album, “Timeless“.
The trailer features the award-winning Nigerian artist on the set of a TV interview, where he gives a brief description of his upcoming album. The compilation is set to drop on Friday, March 31, marking Davido’s first release following a five-month-long hiatus and his first album since “A Better Time” in 2020.
The trailer, released via Spotify’s social channels, reveals that “Timeless” will feature 17 tracks, including collaborations with international and local artists. Davido’s team describes the album as a “body of work beyond fashion and trends” that remains true to the artist’s core, bringing joy to his fans worldwide. The project aims to provide timeless music, with songs that will remain relevant for years.
Timeless tracklist features collaborations with established international artists such as Skepta, Jamaican dancehall star Dexta Daps, Angelique Kidjo, and Asake and emerging local talents such as Logos Olori, Fave, The Cavemen, and Morravey. The album’s first single, “Champion Sound,” featuring Amapiano ambassador Focalistic, was released earlier.
Spotify’s Artist and Labels Partnerships Manager for West Africa, Victor Okpala, expressed excitement over the trailer’s release, describing it as a highly anticipated moment for one of Africa’s most significant ambassadors of the digital era.
The trailer follows the launch of “Timeless Afro,” a Spotify-exclusive playlist curated by Davido featuring traditional Afrobeat songs. These initiatives are part of Spotify’s ongoing efforts to support African music and its creators.
