After nearly a year, dancehall star Skeng, along with his co-accused Cara Vickers (Manager) and Shaquille Kelly (Producer), can finally breathe a sigh of relief as their case was dismissed this afternoon when it was mentioned before the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court.
The prosecution was unable to provide sufficient evidence leading to the ruling.
During the previous court session, the presiding judge had ordered that the unedited footage of the alleged altercation at the Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) be made available at the entertainer’s next court appearance. Attorneys-at-law Christopher Townsend and Chadwick Berry represented the trio.
Speaking with Prism Marketing Consultants, Miss Vickers expressed her gratitude, saying, “The matter has been ongoing for almost a year. It hindered our travel plans for several professional engagements. I can’t say much about the case, but we are grateful for the work of our legal team and that justice prevailed today.”
Skeng and his team were charged with several offences, including disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, following an incident last year at one of the island’s international airports. The police report stated that Skeng was prevented from boarding a flight to Trinidad and Tobago on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, after an argument developed between him and airport authorities at the NMIA. He was subsequently offered station bail.
