On Monday, when the case involving top-flight deejay Skeng was mentioned, the presiding judge ordered that the uncut footage of the alleged altercation at the Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) be made available at the entertainer’s next court appearance.
Following the declaration in the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court, the judge ordered Skeng to return to court on March 9, 2023.
Christopher Townsend, the Attorney-at-law representing the deejay and his co-accused, noted, “The judge determined that the footage was edited and requested that the full raw footage be made available by the next court date.”
Townsend further exclaimed, “What we wanted was the raw footage, but what we got was edited footage. And the part where he was pepper sprayed, we didn’t see that to determine whether the pepper spray was warranted. We maintained it was never warranted as we weren’t doing anything,”
Skeng’s legal woes stem from an incident earlier this year at one of the island’s international airports resulting in him being slapped with several charges, including disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
According to the police report, Skeng was prevented from boarding a flight to Trinidad and Tobago on Tuesday, May 24, after an argument developed between him and airport authorities at the Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA), leading to the charges. He was subsequently offered station bail.
The Spanish Town-based artiste is currently promoting his six-track debut EP “Beast Of The Era“, released last Friday.
